Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 22, 2026
The National Institute for Exercise & Wellness (“NIEW,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of students, certified members, prospective students, and website visitors.
This Privacy Policy explains the types of information NIEW may collect through niewcertified.com, student and member accounts, enrollment and payment processes, contact forms, certification services, and related NIEW services; how that information may be used; and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide to NIEW
Depending on how you interact with NIEW, you may provide information such as your name; email address; username and account credentials; mailing or billing address; enrollment and purchase information; certification and continuing-education records; information submitted through contact, support, or member forms; and other information you voluntarily provide when communicating with NIEW.
NIEW does not require a telephone number as part of its standard program checkout.
Payment Information
When you purchase the NIEW Certified Personal Trainer Program or another paid service, payment information is processed through the payment method or payment processor you select.
NIEW may receive transaction-related information such as the amount paid, payment status, transaction identifier, billing information, or limited payment details necessary to administer the purchase. Complete payment-card information may be handled directly by the applicable payment processor rather than stored by NIEW.
Payment providers maintain their own privacy and security practices.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, NIEW's website and hosting systems may automatically receive technical information such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser or device type, operating system, referring page, pages requested, timestamps, and security or server-log information.
This information may be generated through normal website operation, hosting, security, performance, or troubleshooting systems.
2. How We Use Information
NIEW may use personal information to create and administer student and member accounts; process enrollment and payments; provide course materials and certification services; administer certification examinations; maintain certification and continuing-education records; provide student support and NIEW Member Support & Mentorship; communicate about accounts, purchases, certification, continuing education, renewal, policies, or support requests; respond to contact-form submissions and other inquiries; provide certificates, recommendation letters, and related program services; prevent fraud, unauthorized access, account misuse, or security threats; maintain, troubleshoot, and improve NIEW's website and services; comply with legal, accounting, tax, regulatory, or recordkeeping obligations; and enforce applicable NIEW policies and Terms & Conditions.
If NIEW sends optional promotional email in the future, recipients will be provided an appropriate method to opt out of promotional messages. Opting out of marketing does not prevent NIEW from sending necessary account, certification, purchase, support, or other service-related communications.
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The NIEW website may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for website operation, account login, security, checkout, preferences, and other functionality.
Third-party services integrated with the website may also use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their own policies.
NIEW does not use cookies to sell personal information.
Browser settings may allow you to block or delete certain cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent some website or account functions from operating correctly.
4. How Information May Be Shared
NIEW does not sell personal information.
Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to organizations that provide services supporting NIEW's operations, such as website hosting, payment processing, email delivery, security, website functionality, data storage, or other technical services.
These providers may receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform the services for which they are engaged and are subject to their own contractual, security, and privacy obligations.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, court order, or valid governmental request; when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents, unlawful activity, or material violations of NIEW policies; to protect the rights, safety, or property of NIEW, its users, or others; or in connection with a lawful merger, acquisition, sale, restructuring, or transfer of the business or its assets.
NIEW does not provide student conversations, account information, or personal information to advertisers for them to independently access or read student communications.
5. How Long We Keep Information
NIEW retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate business, certification, accounting, security, contractual, and legal obligations.
Some records may need to remain after an account becomes inactive. For example, NIEW may retain transaction records, certification history, examination or continuing-education records, correspondence relating to an account or certification, and information necessary to document compliance with applicable requirements.
When information is no longer reasonably required, NIEW may delete, anonymize, or securely archive it as appropriate. Backup systems may retain copies for a limited period after information has been removed from active systems.
6. Security
NIEW uses reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or loss.
However, no website, electronic communication, database, or Internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their account passwords and should notify NIEW if they believe an account has been accessed without authorization.
7. Children and Eligibility
The NIEW Certified Personal Trainer Program requires applicants to be at least 18 years old.
NIEW does not knowingly solicit enrollment in the certification program from children under 18.
If NIEW learns that personal information from a child has been collected in circumstances where it should not have been collected, reasonable steps will be taken to delete or otherwise appropriately address the information.
8. Your Account and Privacy Choices
Users may be able to review or update certain account information by signing into their NIEW account.
You may also contact NIEW to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you.
Some information cannot immediately be deleted when NIEW has a legitimate or legal need to retain it, including certain transaction, certification, security, accounting, or dispute-related records.
NIEW may take reasonable steps to verify the identity of a person making a privacy request before providing, changing, or deleting personal information.
9. Privacy Rights Under Applicable Law
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may provide additional rights concerning personal information, which may include rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about how personal information is processed.
NIEW will evaluate verified privacy requests in accordance with the laws that apply to the request. NIEW will not unlawfully discriminate against an individual for exercising an applicable privacy right.
10. International Users
NIEW's online services may be accessed from locations outside the United States.
Information submitted to NIEW may be processed or stored in the United States or in other locations where NIEW's service providers operate. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between jurisdictions.
Where applicable law provides specific protections or rights, NIEW will address them as required.
11. Third-Party Websites and Services
The NIEW website may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party websites and services.
NIEW does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties. Users should review the applicable third party's privacy policy when leaving NIEW's website or using an independently operated service.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
NIEW may update this Privacy Policy as its website, services, technology, business practices, or legal obligations change.
The current version will display an updated effective or revision date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, account system, or email when reasonably appropriate.
13. Contact NIEW
Privacy requests, questions, or concerns may be submitted through the Contact NIEW page.
